Breast Lift
(Mastopexy)
A breast lift is a procedure that will elevate and restore the nipple and areola into a more cosmetic position. It differs from a breast reduction in that no breast tissue is removed, and is therefore considered a cosmetic procedure. The procedure is usually performed under a general anaesthetic, and can be done as day surgery.
Depending on the technique, scars will result around the areola and often on the lower aspect of the breast in a similar fashion to a breast reduction procedure. Depending on the patient's tissue integrity, good results may be affected by delayed dropping of the nipple/areola complex.
This procedure may be performed in conjuction with breast augmentation to restore nipple position and breast fullness.
